Online Survey Scams – How to Avoid Paid Online Survey Scams

With so many survey companies promising wondrous rewards for your opinions, it is hard to separate the real from the fake. Becoming familiarized with subtle hints that scream “SCAM”, can significantly reduce the chances of you being deceived.

The First Hint
What is that age old saying? If a deal is too good to be true, it IS! Well, it holds no different for online surveys. Websites promising large amounts of money for minimal work ($100 for five minutes) are scams. The amount of effort you put into completing surveys will dictate the amount of compensation you receive.

The Second Hint
Have you ever visited a website that bombards you with ads, and is disorganized? This is another hint of an illegitimate company. Search for contact information on websites (whether it be email addresses or phone numbers) and make attempts to communicate with the administration of the site. If you do not receive a response in ample time, do not join the company. If they make no efforts to respond to people interested in joining their company, they probably don’t make any efforts for existing members. Sometimes phone numbers may be outdated, which reeks of scam. Therefore, you should develop some form of communication with the company before committing to any site.

The Third Hint
In connection to the second hint, the third hint is concerned with the absence of “Help Sections” or FAQs. A legitimate company always offers some sort of support to ensure you are properly progressing within their company.

The Fourth Hint (The Biggest Hint Of All)
BE WEARY OF ANY COMPANY THAT REQUIRES A FEE FOR MEMBERSHIP! Companies that only deliver surveys after paying a fee, should be viewed under the most skeptical lens of all. Many companies claim to offer the best surveys, but in reality, they will just keep requesting more payments until you realize it is a scam. Before joining any survey company that requires a membership fee, do an extensive research on the company. Check numerous reviews of the site. You may also want to check out their history on BBB Online to make sure they are in good standing with the Better Business Bureau.
